Cabalcor: Equestrian Tradition Returns to the Royal Stables
There are places in Córdoba where history and tradition remain very much alive. The Royal Stables are one of them.
From 8 September, Cabalcor once again transforms this emblematic building into one of the key meeting points for the equestrian world.
The Córdoba Horse Fair brings together activities, competitions and shows centred around horses, with a particular focus on the Purebred Spanish Horse. It is a different way to discover one of the city’s most distinctive historic sites while getting closer to a tradition deeply rooted in Córdoba.
The Cabalcor 2026 programme continues throughout September and into October.

Concerts in Córdoba in September 2026
Music is another of the month’s main attractions.
The programme begins on 5 September with Pablo López at the Teatro de la Axerquía and continues with some of September’s most anticipated concerts.
On 11 September, Córdoba welcomes Antonio Orozco at the Plaza de Toros and Niña Pastori at the Teatro de la Axerquía. The following day, 12 September, Miguel Poveda takes to the Axerquía stage with Las coplas del querer.
The month also features the 8th Lyrical Music Series, beginning on 3 September at Sala Orive.

Flamenco in Córdoba: Café Cantante at Posada del Potro
For those wishing to experience flamenco in a setting steeped in history, September welcomes back the Café Cantante series at the Posada del Potro, home to the Centro Flamenco Fosforito.
The programme runs from 5 September to 3 October, with four performances taking place on Saturdays at 9:30 pm.
Throughout September, audiences can enjoy performances by Silvia Herrerías, Raúl “el Duende” and Charo Mariscal, while Estefanía Cuevas will close the series on 3 October.
Admission is free until capacity is reached, and tickets can be collected from the Posada del Potro itself 90 minutes before each performance.
An especially interesting experience for anyone looking to discover one of Andalusia’s most iconic cultural expressions in a historic Cordoban setting.

Theatre in Córdoba in September
Córdoba’s cultural programme also continues on stage.
The Teatro de la Axerquía and Teatro Góngora host a variety of performances throughout September, including Cuán largo me lo fiáis on the 15th, El perro del hortelano on the 16th, Macbeth on the 17th and Puccini in privato on the 18th.

Cosmopoética 2026: Córdoba International Poetry Festival
September comes to a close with one of Córdoba’s major cultural events: Cosmopoética, the International Poetry Festival.
From 25 September to 3 October, literature once again takes over different corners of the city with encounters, conversations, readings, workshops and events that connect poetry with other artistic disciplines.
The 2026 edition features announced writers and artists including Siri Hustvedt, John Banville, Sergio Ramírez, Leonardo Padura, Ana Blandiana, Ángeles Mora, Carmen Linares and Rocío Márquez.
